HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Be part of it.

World Public Transport Day is a global celebration, brought to life through local action. We'd love to see lots of activities happening right across the world.

To make it as easy as possible to take part, take a look at some of the ways you can get invoved.

Get the tools to celebrate the day

You'll find all the tools and guidance you need to be part of the celebration in the World Public Transport Day campaign toolkit. Everything from ready-to-use social media posts to show your support through ideas for running a city-wide campaign.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS WORTH CELEBRATING

472

The NYC Subway has around 472 stations, making it one of the largest metro systems in the world.

I do!

There have been around 200 marriage proposals on London’s cable car since it opened in 2012.

Goat power

In Switzerland, the Federal Swiss Railway uses goats to ‘mow’ more than 6,000 acres of grassy embankments along its tracks.

RIDING HIGH

The Wuppertal Schwebebahn in Germany is a suspension railway – its cars hang about 12 metres over the River Wupper!

THE SKY'S THE LIMIT

Medellín in Colombia has cable cars as part of its metro system to connect hillside communities.

COOL CATS

In Japan, many stations are home to cats - they're official mascots and great travel companions.
