Thank you for being part of World Public Transport Day (WPTD) 2026! It’s fantastic to have you on board. We are making a film of the day’s celebrations and we would love to feature your activities.
Our shared challenge is to make this film the days following World Public Transport Day, so that it can feature at the UITP Summit the following week.
To help us with this, please share your footage, photography and your impact stats (e.g. reach/engagements) by 4pm (UTC) on Monday 20 April for a chance to be featured.
Thank you for helping us achieve this. The following guidance is designed to make the process of sharing filmed footage and photography or still graphics as easy as possible.
Video footage guidance
What type of video content are we looking for?
We can accept footage shot on a phone or on a video camera.
Showcase your activations
We want to showcase your WPTD events, activities and celebrations and see public transport being used in your city or country. World Public Transport Day is all about the joy, fun and connections we make when we travel by public transport.
Don’t worry about perfect edits – we just need the video clips of how your city and communities came together as part of WPTD.
Here are some content suggestions:
- Your team in front of public transport interchange or attractive location
- Your team hosting an event or celebration activity
- Any images that showcase the World Public Transport Day logo or branding
- Any shots that visually represent your involvement in the day
- People enjoying public transport!
Speak to camera
It would be great if you could answer this question to camera for us:
QUESTION: Which country and city are you in, and how are you celebrating World Public Transport Day? Short answers are best for us!
Here’s some guidance on how to capture this specific interview shot:
- Position the speaker so they are central in the shot, speaking to the camera, ideally from a distance where you can see slightly over their head down to their elbows.
- Make sure the speaker is well lit. It might be helpful to have a light source (e.g. window) behind the camera, facing the speaker.
- Make sure the speaker can be heard clearly. It’s great to have some relevant activity in the background as long as it doesn’t look too cluttered, but prioritise being able to hear the speaker. It might be helpful to find somewhere quieter or to use a dedicated microphone for the speaker.
Key considerations

Supplying the content
There are a number of options for supplying stills and footage.
- We have set up a Google Drive for you to add any stills or video footage. Please label the files with your organisation, your name and location so we know who has supplied the information.
- Alternatively, share via your own Google Drive link or a WeTransfer.
- You can also provide video footage via a file share video platform such as Vimeo. Please ensure the platform allows external people to download the files.
- Finally you can send an iCloud link if you are using an iPhone or another cloud-based file share link for still images.
You can then submit the links to your stills and footage by completing the share your impact form (link) on the website.
Or you can send the links to hello@WorldPublicTransportDay.com, including your name, organisation, country and any impact stats (reach, impressions, engagements and more).
Please do not share your footage or photography through Whatsapp or any other messaging platform, as we will be unable to use them. These apps compress the file and reduce the quality of what you are sharing. Please upload the original footage or image files directly to one of the options above.
