“I prefer public transport because it allows me to be hands free (from the clutch), and legs free (from the pedal, braking), and eyes free too (off from constant focus on the traffic) – and thus stress free! And the pollution I'm subjected to on a bus, Metro (enclosed, elevated platform) is far less than personal or private transport. And having long talked of sustainable living, including transport, it is affirming that commitment. Even to the office, I mostly switched to public transport, once the Metro Purple Line got operational.
“I can use the travel time more fruitfully, either browsing messages on my phone, or catching up on a book. Or simply switching off and enjoying the greenery or landscapes passing by – it’s of meditative!"
“The short hops, walks between the bus stops allow me to notice, stop, observe, discover, ID and document nature and the trees through the changing seasons.”
“Importantly, these days, the short hops, walks between the bus stops allow me to notice, stop, observe, discover, ID and document nature and the trees through the changing seasons.
“And it ensures I will cycle around in a 4.5 km radius. Good for my health. Good for the environment and for others' health! Yeah, the outlook is to count the blessings and enjoy the so many positive things that taking public transport has unleashed for me. For occasional urgent needs and convenience, there are Ola, Uber et al. without parking hassles. I'm clear-headed in this respect. Yes, I'm enjoying it!”
